He’s in a parking lot with K, and K’s head is huge, twice as big as normal, and bald, like the head, proportionately, of a newborn baby. He wants to touch her but isn’t sure he should, with her head like that. Finally they embrace. He can feel her arousal. She whispers, “How can you give this up, you stupid man?” Then the scene changes and he’s in a lecture class being taught by K and K needs some fried onions for a demonstration. He volunteers to cook them for her, but she doesn’t want him to miss the first section of her lecture. He says it’s okay, he’s already heard most of the material, and hurries off to a nearby room where there’s a stove. There he slices up two onions and puts them in frying pan with oil, then cuts off his bottom lip, chops the lip into tiny pieces the size of chives, and tosses them in with the onions. Then he does the top lip, being careful to leave behind an even surface, so it won’t be so noticeable when he returns to class.
